Wonderfront Light Tunnel

Transforming the space between destinations.

A glowing blue triangular light tunnel at night with a person taking a photo inside.

Wonderfront Light Tunnel is a temporary art installation created for the 2019 Wonderfront Music Festival in downtown San Diego. The project transforms a transitional sidewalk into an immersive spatial experience, using material, light and shadow to make movement through the festival part of the event itself.

Rather than treating circulation as leftover space, the installation frames it as a destination — visitors pass through a corridor of light that reshapes their perception of an ordinary pedestrian route.
